Make a Statement

I am totally gaga for these Simone Rocha Spring 2016 looks. What's not to love about these uber-feminine outfits? While these styles may be more appropriate for warmer days, the thing I am loving about them for the upcoming holiday party season are the statement earrings. I am absolutely inspired to pair some of these over-the-top stunning earrings with a classic cashmere sweater for the winter months. Here are a few of my top picks for the season:

Hermes x Apple

I must admit that previously I had never felt the desire to purchase an Apple watch. I much prefer my good old-fashion classic Cartier, but I have had my eye on the Hermes Cape Code Double Tour Watch for quite some time now. Thus, when I heard about the collaboration between Apple and Hermes and saw the incredibly sleek designs I could not believe my eyes! Suddenly, I was drawn to the perfect fusion of fashion and function. What's not to love?!

Poppy X Chopard

Recently, talented photographer Garance Dore (her blog is a MUST read) shot the beautiful Poppy Delevingne for a project she is working on with Chopard. They did the photo shoot as if they were spending a casual yet luxurious day with Poppy in her home and the result was absolutely perfect. I could not resist sharing these images with you. Such fantastic Fall fashion inspiration. Have a lovely weekend!

"Mise en Dior" Tribal Pearl Earrings

I cannot get enough of the "miss en dior" tribal earrings as they are such an unexpected way to wear classic pearls.  They make a perfectly subtle statement with any outfit. If you want to get this look, but are hesitant to invest in the beautiful Dior version, there are plenty of these earrings available out there for a fraction of the price, like these ones

Truly Timeless: Vintage Cartier

There is nothing more timeless than a Cartier watch as it is something you can wear from the time you are 18 until you are 80 (at least I imagine wearing mine that long!). Let's just say, the price per wear is truly worth it. If you are in the market for a timepiece, Moda Operandi is currently having a trunk show teeming with beautiful vintage Cartier classics. You certainly don't want to miss it.

Beautiful Baubles: Splurge vs. Save

After having to get dressed up both nights this past weekend, I realized what a huge impact statement earrings can make. But, for those of us who can't buy the real thing, costume baubles can be just as fabulous! Lately, I am loving my Bacall earrings from Elizabeth Cole and these Waterfall stunners from Kenneth Jay Lane.

Crowd Jewel: Modern Classic Pearl Contest Winners!

Well darlings, recently I had the pleasure of sponsoring one of Crowd Jewel's design contests. For those of you unfamiliar with Crowd Jewel, they are an absolutely fabulous community driven design platform on the quest to find the next big jewelry designer! Designers are able to submit a piece relevant to a contest with a specific design direction and the community is able to vote on their favorite!  Given that I was able to choose the direction of the contest, I wanted it to be inspired by my all-time favorite accessory, Pearls! Thus, the idea for the "Modern Classic Pearls" contest was born! Continue reading on to find out how these two amazing contest winners took a classic piece of jewelry and added a modern twist!

Pinar Sondal - Toosis

Pinar Sondal is a lovely jewelry designer based out of Istanbul. She began designing jewelry in 2001 and has been creating exquisite pieces ever since! Her design, this long gold multi-layer pearl necklace was truly the crowd favorite! Using a carefully crafted technique she created a piece that can dress up any outfit! To see more of Pinar's gorgeous pieces you must check out her fabulous store, Toosis, where she features many more designs made of pearls and semi-precious stones!

Gali Smith - Mindful Designs

Gali Smith, of Mindful Design, is a designer whose aesthetic is geared towards the classics. Over nine years ago, she was inspired to begin designing jewelry after constantly searching for the perfect piece to accessorize her outfits with. She was a contest winner with this stunning silver grey moon pearl and chain necklace, which will look lovely paired with everything from a t-shirt to a ball gown! Not only are Gali's designs beautiful but a portion of her proceeds go towards helping animals in need, a cause that remains close to her heart.

Congratulations Pinar & Gali!!

It may just be the PERFECT pearl addition to my wardrobe.

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Some of you may know that I love my engagement ring almost as much as the incredible man who gave it to me ... which trust me is ALOT! He did an unbelievable job designing a ring that was absolutely perfect for me with the magnificent help of Laura Arth of the San Francisco jeweler,  Arth & Co. Now that we have been working on designing our wedding bands together - I have had the sincere pleasure of getting to work with her as well! Not only does she have impeccable taste and expertise - but a fabulously fun personality, which sparkles just as must as the jewelry she creates. For all of you darlings who may be in search of stunning custom jewelry design - Laura is absolutely the girl for you!

Bright Baubles

Well my darlings, last night I truly felt like a kid in a candy shop when I attended an event for the fabulous French jewelry designer, Shourouk at gorgeous SF Boutique La Boutique hosted by the lovely ladies of Ruby Press. Shourouk flew in from Paris in order to showcase her exquisite creations - which I must say were truly unbelievable. Her use of color is beyond fabulous and when wearing one of her pieces you truly have an instant outfit. It was an honor to meet the darling designer herself - and to say I am obsessed with her work is an understatement.
