Cannes Film Festival 2013 Red Carpet

The Cannes Film Festival opened this week with an incredible (but wet!) night on the red carpet celebrating The Great Gatsby. Hollywood's Elite made their way through the camera filled crowd as rain came pouring down. But, that did not stop them from looking incredibly glamorous in their utterly gorgeous gowns. I have two black tie events to attend this weekend and I can only hope I look half as stunning as these beauties.

Dress to Desktop: Oscar de la Renta x Paperless Post

It's officially a match made in heaven. One of my favorite designers, Oscar de la Renta, partnered with Paperless Post to create a line of beautiful runway-inspired stationery. Available via snail mail or email this collection was directly inspired by many of Oscar’s designs from his Resort and Pre-Fall Collections. With dozens of suites to choose from, I must say that my favorite might be, “Tie the Knot” (featured above). As you all know well by now, I truly cannot resist a good bow.

Loving Ladies Who Lunch

Upon viewing these gorgeous images captured by talented photographer, Jaime Beck, of this luncheon hosted by the Women's Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, I could not help but be sartorially inspired by these chic ladies who lunch. The fabulous hats and pretty pastels are just beyond perfection. I must say that I secretly dream of being a "lady who lunches" ... maybe some day?

Met Gala: Pretty in Punk

 

Every year I truly look forward to getting a glimpse of the red carpet at fashion's most exclusive event, the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. With the theme of this year's exhibition being "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" I was curious as to how the glamorous guests  would incorporate this into their attire. As always, I was absolutely blown away by all the gowns... as it turns out punk can be pretty. In my book, best dressed of the night goes to Moda Operandi's Taylor Thomasi Hill for truly making punk look glam in her Thom Browne gown.

Ferragamo's L'Icona Campaign

To celebrate 35 years of its most famous flat, the Vara, Ferragamo has launched its L’icona campaign. Curated by the talented photographer, ClaiborneSwanson Frank, the campaign features portraits of modern tastemakers (including many of my personal style icons) such as Olivia Palermo and Lauren Santo Domingo. For 21 days throughout May, Ferragamo will unveil a new portrait of a different girl featuring the Vera shoe. What is most exciting is that you are now able to customize your own Vera or Verina flats with whichever color combination you choose. The options are truly endless for this timeless classic!

With incredibly warm weather here in San Francisco (which NEVER happens!) I am feeling very compelled to pull some scalloped shorts out of my closet this weekend. The Chloe ones (shown above) have always been my favorites. There is just something so sweet & summery about scallops.

SF Decorator Showcase Sneak Peek: Catherine Kwong

I look forward to attending the San Francisco Decorator Showcase every year and it is so easy to do so this year as it is right down the street from my apartment! 

I am most excited to see the glamorous living room that talented interior designer, Catherine Kwong has designed. Inspired by Mick and Bianca Jagger, the decadent space has been described as a “rock n’ roll hideaway”. The painted floor and luxurious molding truly bring an element of high drama to the room. These images are just a small sneak peek into the gorgeous space.

The San Francisco Decorator Showcase is open to the public through May 27^th. It is truly something you won’t want to miss!

Rocking Valentino Rockstuds

After coveting these shoes for many months, I have finally taken the plunge and I am proud to be rocking these Valentino Rockstud Heels. Not only are they incredible chic, but seriously comfortable! (I know they don't look it). I have a feeling I will find ways to wear these again & again ... & again.

I think it’s always nice to end the week with something especially beautiful. I must say there was nothing I saw this week that was more gorgeous than the Oscar dela Renta Spring 2014 Bridal Collection. As always, Oscar’s intricate details absolutely blew me away and I adore the way they are captured in these black & white photographs. Oh, what I would have given to be there!

Every week I truly enjoy reading Net-a-Porter's online magazine, The Edit as it is always teaming with incredible inspiration. I must say that this week's publication, The Icons Issue, may just be my favorite yet! Filled with classics, I found myself wanting to purchase something from every page. What is fabulous, is that Net-a-Porter allows you to do just that with their "shop this issues tab"... Brilliant yet dangerous!
