Christopher Kane + J Brand = Colorful Collaboration

Well darlings, I am terribly sorry that I have been so MIA this week! My lack of blogging was due to my busy work travel. However, yesterday while at Barney's in NYC I was able to see the launch of the Christopher Kane & J Brand collaboration. I am absolutely LOVING the neon denim! ... but I am wishing these denim delights came out in the Summer rather than November.

The Perfect Pearls

 

If you know me, you know that I absolutely adore pearls and wear them quite often (I must say they may be a signiture peice of my personal style).   I have always lusted after this single strand Chanel necklace .... should this be on the top of my Christmas wishlist this year? It may just be the PERFECT pearl addition to my wardrobe.

dCc Behind the Design: Morton & Hudson

Darlings, today I am delighted to introduce you to the fabulous handbag brand Hudson & Morton, which is designed by a talented childhood friend of mine. These bags are the utterly perfect combination of downtown cool & uptown sophistication. I have asked Sydney a few questions about the inspiration behind her chic Fall 2012 collection ....

Where do you find most of your inspiration?
I find that most of my inspiration comes from my travels. The exposure to different cultures, art and architecture has always been the primary driving force behind my designs. For this Fall collection, I was inspired by the clean lines and crisp tailoring in menswear as well as the architecture in Nicolas Alan Cope photographs. 

How did you get your start as a designer?
I got my start as a designer almost immediately after I graduated Parsons School of Design in May. Internships at Donna Karan and Rag & Bone as well as my Parsons fashion design education helped me learn all of the facets of the design process- from conceptualization to production to sales. I've always dreamed of having my own line and after weeks of sketching and sample making, I decided to go into production and bring this company to life. 

What is the "must have" bag in your Fall 2012 Collection?
Blush is THE color for Fall, which is why I designed each bag in Blush. The Village Clutch is made out of a gorgeous pebbled lamb leather and I find the texture so compelling- the color and the texture combined certainly pop with any Fall outfit.

Dylan Lauren's Divine Dress

Well darlings, I am so sorry that I offically missed Wedding Wednesday yesterday, but I thought I would make up for it by featuring Dylan Lauren's stunning wedding dress. What makes it even more special was that it was designed by her father ... Mr. Ralph Lauren. I know that my wedding day has passed, but I am still waiting for Ralph Lauren to develop a full bridal line!

Lately, I cannot get enough of Carven's Resort 2012 collection. This was Guillaume Henry's first collection for the famed French fashion house, and he was certainly able to give it a youthful twist.... and how adorable are those shoes?

Wedding Wednesday: Down the Aisle with Amsale

After deciding on an Amsale dress for my own wedding dress, I have been hooked on her classic & elegant bridal designs. Although I am no longer looking for my own wedding dress, I could not wait to see her latest collection... and let me tell you darlings it does not disappoint! I absolutely adore the beaded bateau neckline of the "Aspen" dress pictured above, truly timeless!

The Perfect Entrance

This weekend we picked up many of our wedding gifts, which were still in Southern California. It was quite fun un-packing them all and continuing to decorate our apartment. I adore this entrance table ... come on - boxwood balls, beautiful mint julep cups & bold stripes ... does it get any better? Design dream.
