Wedding Wednesday: Stunning Showcase

Well my darlings, today is a special edition of "Wedding Wednesday" as I am going to be giving you a glimpse into my talented sister-in-law-to be's room at the annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase. How does this relate to weddings you ask?... Well, she is extremely clever and since the showcase opens the day of the "Royal Wedding" she has designed a gorgeous bridal suite. Here are some thoughts from the fabulous Josephine Fisher herself about the inspiration for the room ...

"I like so many, am inspired by the joy that weddings bring. I love the contageous smile a bride raditates. I love the excitement it brings to family and friends. This years' San Francisco Decorator Showcase will hopefully bring smiles to thousands with my bridal suite "Going to the Chapel" when it opens to the public the day of the Royal Wedding! My inspirations are many, but I have selected fabrics, lightfixtures and more all from Europe to in honor of the Royal Wedding. Join me in the dream, in the month of May, on Vallejo Street as the bay sparkles just like royal jewels."

She describes the room as ...

"... a glimpse into the betrothed inner sanctum as the bride-to-be prepares for her nuptials. The soft blue walls, the cream silk taffeta curtains and the French day bed create an ethereal palette - the perfect surroundings to begin the magic of her wedding day. The dress, the dressing table the honeymoon waredrobe all await."

Below is a sneak peak at a few of the stunning fabrics she has chosen to use in the room ...

And the darling designer herself ...

Once the showcase begins on April 30th - I will be sure to give everyone a glimpse of the completed bridal suite!

For Japan With Love ...

My darlings, in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Japan -  today I will be participating in a bloggers day of silence to help raise money for those affected by the disaster. The two amazing women behind Utterly Engaged & Ever Ours have put together a fabulous fundraiser For Japan With Love. All money raised will go directly to ShelterBox - an organization whose volunteers work first hand in Japan providing food, shelter, and basic needs for these victims. Any contribution no matter how large or small will be greatly appreciated. To make a donation visit For Japan With Love

Spread the love ...

Wedding Wednesday: Perfect Paper

One of the design elements I truly care about for my wedding is ... the paper. This weekend it is very exciting as I will offically be ordering our invitations - and I absolutely LOVE them! This fabulous menu and invitation are from one of my favorite weddings featured in Martha Stewart Weddings  - the calligraphy and mix of fonts is perfect. I also love the hand drawn map as I am considering getting one of these made for our wedding as well ... waht do you darlings think?

There are two things completely unrelated to one another that I have been loving lately - leapord (for my wardrobe!) and boxwood hedges (for my wedding!). I was looking though my inspiration file and noticed that while these two ideas are so different from one another that these photos pull my obsesssions together perfectly. Sweet or Studly? ...

Lately, I have been loving this darling outfit from Louis Vuitton's Fall 2011 collection .. and in thinking what shoes I would adore to wear with it I realized that either of these Valentino shoes would do (clearly I am having a Valentino shoe moment!) .. would you go with the sweet bow pumps? or the studly heels?

Wedding Wednesday: Beautiful in St. Barths

Ever since spotting Olivia Chantecaille's breathtaking St Barth's wedding in Town & Country Weddings a few years ago I have been completely in love. The entire event was truly beautiful - from the stunning setting to her handsome guests but what truly takes the cake is  her gorgeous custom lace gown by Giambattista Valli ... it may be one of my favorite wedding dresses of all times.
